3 Facts You May Not Know About Invisalign

Have you always dreamed of having nicely aligned teeth? Do you feel uncomfortable with how your smile looks, but you don’t want to deal with traditional braces? We can help!

Nataly Vilderman, DDS, offers Invisalign®, which is a system for straightening teeth that is nearly invisible and far more convenient than traditional braces. It’s perfect for busy people who want a beautiful smile and none of the hassle of traditional braces.

Although you may know the basics of how Invisalign works, there may be a few details you don’t know about. Keep reading to learn three key facts about this life-changing system.

1. Eating is simple with Invisalign

Have you looked at the Invisalign trays and wondered how you’re supposed to eat while wearing them? Well, you don’t eat with them. You take them out to eat, so no food gets stuck in them.

After you finish eating, you brush your teeth and put your aligners back in. The brushing is to clean your teeth and prevent staining your aligners, which would keep them from being “invisible!”

You generally need to wear your aligners for about 22 hours a day. However, you can take them out to eat, brush your teeth, and for certain occasions, such as to give a presentation at work or go on a first date.

The flexibility that Invisalign offers is one of the biggest reasons our patients love them.

2. Invisalign can correct many issues

Invisalign doesn’t just treat teeth that need minor corrections. Invisalign can fix many orthodontic issues, such as the following:

The best way to find out if Invisalign can correct your dental issue is to talk with Dr. Vilderman. She can evaluate your situation and suggest the best way to reach your goals.

3. You can make sure your kids are wearing their aligners

Invisalign aligners are great for adults, teens, and younger children. And while adults can generally be trusted to wear their aligners as directed, some parents worry that their kids won’t. We have good news! Your child’s aligners can include a compliance indicator.

The indicator changes color to let you know if your child isn’t wearing their aligners enough. So you as a parent can make sure your kids are getting the care they need.
